From: "Mea McNeil" 'Yes, it contains starch. Does anyone know of a brand
that does not...?'
In UK the largest sugar manufacturer is Tate & Lyle - produce 'Icing Sugar -
pure cane sugar' containing 'icing sugar and anti-caking agent E554' (what
ever that is) - also 'Fondant Icing Sugar - pure cane sugar' containing
only icing sugar and dried glucose syrup. I use ordinary for powdering
colonies as the sugar falls straight thru the mesh floor and the fondant
icing sugar for queen candy. Fondant is more expensive. But am watching
these posts and if anyone has evidence of damage to brood from the
anticaking agent .....please speak now.
