In spring of 2005 I purchased 34 queens from B Weaver as my normal
source of Carniolan's in California was oversold. I was intruiged by
there claims of mite resistance.
While the offspring from these queens were not as gentle as the
Carniolans we use in the rest of our operation I did not feel they were
hot or unworkable.
The mite counts in these colonies remained low and they have
received no treatments so far. Many of the queens are still in
production again this year.
