Having heard diverse opinions about the Russian strain
of bee I have a few questions.
1. Can the Russians be induced to build up early via
pollen patties and sugar syrup (HFC)?
2. What seems to be the disposition of the F2
generation when open mated (Granted drones vary the
results)?
3. Do they seem to supercede a lot (Reason for
previous question)?
4. What problems seem to arise with the introduction
of the Russian queens into colonies/nucs/splits of
non-Russian bees?
5. A lot of queen suppliers claim Russian genetics.
What observations have been made concerning these
queens? Good producers? Gentleness? Varroa
tollerant?
