Unfortunately, while this may have applied when and where the scientists in
question worked, it seems that all bees have not heard the news.
I recall having about 26 out of 30 package hives swarm one spring in one of my
yards. I assume that the queens were all new that spring. Many good
beekeepers, especially many who have observed their own bees, are not as
convinced as George is.
