Subject: Vs: [BEE-L] Apistan after 4 years
Date: Sun, 14 Aug 2005 10:01:30 +0300
Italians ( Milani if I recall right) showed last year results from a study about apistan use in hives taht had had resistant mites. I don't have the paper but recall that thre was better effect afrer about 4- 5 years of no Apistan. But the effect was in 70 % range instead of the 97 % that is normal for non-resistant mites.
This means that it takes longer to have a normal effect back. Tim if you use Apistan now, be sure not to use it again next year as the resistance starts to come back fast if 30 % of bees are still resistant.
