Yes, something needs to be done educating the public that not all bees in
the AHB zones are AHB. People, I assume in these zones, automatically cry
AHB when bees are noticed.

This was one of my points. This colony did not at all appear to me, by the
information provided, to be an AHB colony. Maybe it was and maybe it wasn't.
At any rate with education and an aware official, considering the incident
was provoked by stoning, the colony could maybe have been saved by a
beekeeper. I could very well be wrong in my opinions but it is for the love
of honey bees I suggested what I did.
