Hello Allen & All,
Allen said:
I think I should mention, however, that Seeley showed, and we all know, that
placing full drone combs into the middle of a brood chamber, even in
off-centre locations, will diminish crops significantly.
Putting up to three full drone comb in drone raising colonies as suggested
by Larry Conner in his series of articles in Bee Culture last year is what
Chuck and I are getting at.
I believe my friend Chuck Norton is wanting to get a discussion going
concerning last years series of articles on drone importance by Larry
Conner.
Having read all the articles several times and I believe I understand the
things Larry has written I also realize that I am not on the level of
knowledge Larry is. I do see a couple problems with his methods but would
hate to air my critic without Larry to defend himself and show me the error
of my ways.
I have attended several of Larry's talks and actually dug through a couple
hives with Larry at a Kansas Bee meeting once. I always do listening rather
than talking when Larry is around!
Bob
