Ahem. This is oxymoronic (although you aren't alone in this error,
Harold). You say tomatoes self pollinate, then you say they need
help to pollinate.
Tomatoes self pollenize. They may do a little self pollination, but not
enough to make a real crop, as is seen when they are grown in a
greenhouse without pollinators.
Time to put the myth of "self pollination" of tomatoes to a final rest...
