Hello everyone,

I am a first year beekeeper and have only posted to this list a couple of
times but have been humored, humbled and inspired by the goings on here. I
am currently reading yet another book about bees but am enjoying it so much
I thought I'd post the title and implore those of you who haven't read it
to pick it up. It's called The Queen Must Die and other Affairs of Bees
and Men by Wm Longgood. I've been consuming practically everything I can
get my hands on about beekeeping for the past few years and this one is by
far the most interesting, well-written, thought-provoking, philosophical
book about bees and mankind's relationship to them that I've found. Its
not a quick read but one to be savored. I only wish I could get all my
family and friends to read this book so that they might better understand
why I MUST keep bees. (Can't you hear the beginner's enthusiasm in this
msg!) What an amazing (dare I say "smart") creature this little honeybee
really is. Check it out if you haven't already.
What is your all-time favorite bee book?
Regards,
Ken Parker
