The thing to remember is that most jurisdictions in developed countries
justifyably have increasingly strict standards for facilities where foods
are prepared, materials that come into contact with food, permissible
ingredients, and reuired labelling for foods sold to the public
I suppose what is sold privately to informed, consenting adults is less
subject to such standards, but nonetheless, in today's world. it can be
risky to sell a product that is in any way questionable. I think the
products being discussed here are questionable in the minds of most
scrupulous beekeepers, and that those supplying them are skating a bit close
to the edge.
