Wind can be deadly to beeyards,
Winter wrap up here in the prairie provences of Canada is a must.
Around the sides and ontop with insulation covered with tarpaper in
groups of 4 works for me.   I keep the inner cover hole open for venting
of water vapour and for an enterence, the snow can get deep here.
A young queen also helps.
