I don't care much about the property tights issues, money is cheap.
What I find "really scary" about this is Monsanto's concern that their
property rights have been transferred to a variety of canola to which
they have no claim.  One side of the GM coin is the claim that
genetically modified organisms are stable and cannot readily be
transferred laterally.  Yet Monsanto has successfully (so far) made a
case that their "rights" are protected when transferred laterally.  Is
it is or is it ain't?
