Hello Robert,
I would suggest joining the Florida Beekeepers list ( of which I am a member
and lurker) and asking the questions and research their archives
as small hive beetle is discussed almost daily.
Now is a busy time for beekeepers and many of the university people are
still on break which means low activity on lists.
Small Hive beetle has been discussed many times and if you do a search in
the BEE-L archives with small hive beetle and my name as author you should
get information.
I have not found small hive beetle in my bees yet but they are in Missouri
so I can not give first hand information. Sorry.
Back to the honey house to extract. I do not want to be still extracting in
October like last year!
Bob
