Hi, all. My friend bought a package plus an overwintered hive with
lots of left over honey. I helped him move four frames of honey into
the package hive for starter food, replacing them with wood frames
with plastic foundation. The package bees drew their plastic
foundation out just fine but the old hive bees did a funny thing.
They started drawing comb in a few patches and then continued
building comb down from that start but hanging free of the
foundation, just as if they were in a wall. Is this familiar to
anyone? Any suggestions? Replace those frames with wax foundation?
Dan
