I've also have used thymol, but not as a inorganic chemical. I personally prefer the organic method of using the herb thyme, which has from 20 to 40 percent thymol as its main essential chemical. I also surround my hives with 2 of my favorite herb thyme, French and German. The bees love it , and so do I. Just 2 to 3 sprigs of thyme in your sugar syrup does wonders
