I've often wondered what compels bees to leave the hive for a certain death
in these conditions. My experience has shown that for the most part these
are the hives that will survive the winter. The more dead bees laying in the
snow, the healthier the hive, it seems like a paradox but it has been that
way for me. Why this is, I don't know.
