Your introduction method sounds ok. I'm not sure about the mosquito netting
though. I have introduced "valuable" queens (usuually artificially
inseminated) using push-in cages made of #8 hardware cloth. The cages are
about 3" by 4" by 3/4". I select a frame of brood that is beginning to
emerge and hopefully there is a little bit of nectar nearby as well. The
queen is released alone under the cage which is pushed into the brood area
and put back into the colony for at least 3 or 4 days. Before I remove the
cage, I check to see how the bees are behaving around and on the cage. If
they appear to be biting at or trying to sting through the cage, back in she
goes for another couple of days. ( I have not seen this happen after 3 or 4
days). Otherwise, I lift off the cage and observe the queen for a minute or
so and particulaly how the bees react to her. I also give this colony a
thin syrup of sugar water with a bit of Fumidil-B added.
good luck
