My guess is that the question relates to Dr.Shimanuki's studies on the
link between chalkbrood and EFB- more chalk less efb.

where it speaks of the use of Linoleic acid to keep afb and efb in
check. It was noted that it is in most vegetable oils and might be a
reason that bees fed extender patties with oil are healther.
But pollen also has Linoleic Acid, so...
