Regarding a good book for beekeeping questions I recommend:
"The Beekeeper's Handbook" Sammataro, Diana and Avitable, Alphonse, New York
Collier, 1986. ISBN 0 - 02-081410-0
 
This book is easy to understand
and the illustrations are helpful.
