Here in Maine, many feral colonies are the nicest of bees. One of my
favorite colonies was rescued from a lightning-downed tree as another cold
front with violent thunderstorms and hail rumbled in from the NW. We just
barely got them hived as the first big drops splattered down. They were a
dream to work with and have been sweethearts ever since. Got to put in a
good word for feral bees.
