There is also an opinion that the grease (extender) patties played a role in
resistance by keeping the bacteria exposed to terramycin for an extended
period. Also, many recipes for terramycin extender patties that were printed
in most bee supply catalogs, incorrectly gave a much lower dose of
terramycin than was recommended by the manufacturer. The manufacturer also
confused a lot of people by making 3 products with three different strengths
and instructions that also confused.
