One more observation I forgot to mention.
    Charlie Harper said the Russians are extremely gentle, more so even than
Caucasians.
    The last point in my previous post needs to be emphasized: some
conventional swarm management techniques, such as pinching off queen cells,
may prove fruitless at best with some Russian strains that maintain queen
cells throughout the season. Or worse, it could cause stress that leads to
the death of the colony.
