Hi Leslie!
I'm catching up on my emails and just read your post. How is this mother making out?

Current situation: Vaginal delivery with no anesthesia 12/17/16, minimal blood loss, 39 4/7 weeks gestation, female infant weight 7 lb 7 oz. Referred to me for outpatient lactation visit on day 4, weight loss 19 %. Mother reported no feelings of fullness or increase in milk supply. Mother started on pumping plan and SNS (with formula to supplement) . Mother has been pumping (double electric) every 2 hours around the clock, yield is up to 30-45cc per session. Infant had posterior tongue tie revision on 12/29/16. Mother and infant have been seen twice in office by me to work on positioning and breast compression to maximize breastfeeding. Mother had lab work done and vaginal ultrasound on 12/30/16. Results "debris" which OB didn't feel contained placental fragments. Mother's bleeding had been "light", since the vaginal ultrasound bleeding has been "heavier". Mother is passing clots, states she feels uterine cramping and "breasts tingling" when infant nurses. Mother scheduled for MRI of pituitary gland on Friday January 6 to rule out hemorrhage or neoplasm.
