While reading the Moosewood Restaurant Low Fat Favorites book, I persued
the vitamins and minerals at a glance and was surprised to see Vitamin L
noted as encouraging normal milk formation and secretion in women. It was
stated as found in beef liver and yeast, a water soluble vitamin. I am
unable to find it in Nutrition in Pregnancy and Lactation or my very old
nursing nutrition text. Does this have another name? Is it one of the B
vitamins? Calling all RDs and nutritionists! Unfortunately the test is not
footnoted although there is a bibliography mentioning newsletters and
magazines and other cookbooks.
NILCA friends, I will not see you at the December meeting, happy holidays.
