Have just been requested to reply to an MD who prefers to keep Demerol PCA
on our formulary as Morphine is "dangerous to babies". (The requester
assumed this meant via breastmilk.

I have read Dr. Hale's evaluation in M&MM, Pub-Med abstracts from University
of Chicago c. 1997, etc. and the LACTNET archives. Is there something new
out there about which I have not heard that lists Morphine as being
dangerous post-Cesarean?

Thanks for the help in advance!! Have been no mail for awhile--and
definitely missed the contact!
