Kika, I remember we discussed it perhaps less than 2 months ago.

My $.02 worth was "heme" as a breakdown product of blood, perhaps from a
papilloma or something up higher in the ductwork, contibuting some blood
all during pregnancy to the colostrum that has slowly been making its way
forward in the breast since midpregnancy. The concentration, and the fact
that it's so early in the course make me believe it's that rather than
food dye, etc. By the time the mature milk arrives, it will be so dilute
mom won't see any evidence of new blood or old breakdown products. So if
the urine isn't green, that's my bet. Just have the ped reassure her her
milk's higher in iron than most!
