I had a mom about 3 years ago that got pregnant soon after gastric bypass
surgery. She had sucessfully breastfed a previous child. When she got
pregnant so soon after the surgery, there was concern about the pregnancy
and her health, etc. However, she went on to have no difficulty nursing,
not problems with milk supply whatsoever. She lost alot of weight after
the baby was born due to the bypass. The baby was followed closely for
weight gain but did not have any. I'm sure she would be happy to share the
details of her experience if anyone wants more info. She was very active
in our Nursing Mother's Council.
