Hi all,

Thanks for the insights on the suspected dairy sensitivity I posted
about a few days back. I spoke with the mum again today and the baby is
extremely averse to nursing, and begins to scream after getting a taste
of breastmilk. This happens whether it is from the breast or in a
bottle, but is not bothered by the soy formula. I again mentioned the
suspected dairy sensitivity and eliminating ALL cow protein for at least
10 days. So is this treated as a nursing strike? Should she keep pumping
and periodically try baby at the breast? The baby seems to have decided
that breastmilk causes pain and discomfort and formula doesn't. The mum
said he seems to want to nurse but is reacting to something in her milk.
She is not happy about weaning but doesn't like seeing her baby in pain
(who would?). Suggestions from you wise folk?
