This article came in on Medscape today. It was very timely for me, as I received a call from a mom this am who is experiencing postpartum engorgement.  She began weeping (very common), but the intensity and duration of her crying gave me the impression that her bf problems were just the catalyst for expressing extreme grief.

Given the emotional ups and downs of a normal postpartum period, I think the tragedies experienced are adding to the intensity  new moms are feeling.
