OK, If I had a copy of MMM I wouldn't have to ask this question -- it's a
mark of my being an amateur. But.

A mom was told NOT to wean for her prescription of amoxacillin (pleasant
surprise there), and didn't wean, but tells me "probably I should have even
though they told me that, because my milk turned flourescent green, I'm sure
it was totally toxic."

Now (the amox having not achieved its goal, unknown to me what that goal is)
she was prescribed doxacyline. "So I had to wean, even though I nursed my
older child to a year and I was really sorry. But the tetracycline family
are really dangerous to kids, they don't prescribe them for kids or babies at
all any more, they stain their teeth etc etc."

Needless to say I ran home and looked at the drug list in the back of the BAB
and there's tetracycline on the "Perfectly OK" list.

However -- and here's my question -- the references listed for it being fine
are both 30+ years old -- one is from 1969, the other from 1955!

Is there any newer info out there on this family of drugs in human milk?
Looking for pro or for con, here, just for the up to date refs that I can
(maybe) give this mother, if she is interested in getting them, which is
dubious... But at least I'll know.

Thanks.

Elisheva
