I see a great cultural bias in all these warnings against co-sleeping. More than half of the world population sleep with their kids. Half of the world population sleep in places that would certainly not be called a bed in the Western world: hard surfaces, or hanging hammocks, no bedding, no comforters, just other bodies for warmth. Co-sleeping has been practiced for millions of years and it is certainly not a major cause of infant mortality. Malnutrition, lack of clean water....why do the so called "civilized" world keep spending money in futile research? I do feel for all the deceased babies due to SIDS....but I guess there is a reason why it used to be called "crib death" not so long ago.
