We deliver about 4000 annual. It has been as high as 5000. We are in
financial trouble so there have been no raises for 3+ years.

I am a non-RN IBCLC and am paid on the level of a New Grad RN. It's still
in that category despite one .50/hr merit raise at One Year. I get holidays
off, shift differential and full benefits, but NO overtime is authorized or
paid for.

My colleague is an RN/IBCLC. She gets (my estimation) at least 1/3 more (or
more) than I do and mgmt designated her the Program Lead. She did not ask
for or want that designation. She is considered salaried. She also gets
holidays off and full benefits.

We do have another RN/IBCLC who is stuck in the New Grad wage (despite
being 2+ years post-grad) level because of our hospital's $$$ troubles. She
is Float Pool, not staff, and her primary obligation is to L&D. So even if
she is scheduled for LC work, she is regularly pulled to work as an RN in
L&D. That leaves no LCs on days when she was calendared to work alone.

Both my coworkers put in RN (only) time at another hospital in my city and
get about $34/hr. That is substantially more than they get working as
RN/LCs at my hospital. I do believe that my first colleague, because of her
years of RN experience, did get wages equivalent to her RN experience at my
hospital when she would occasionally pull a shift as an RN (only).

There are people at my hospital who have great ideas on how to expand
Lactation Services, but they miss the point that there are only 2 to maybe
2.25 of us. We cover 5 1/2 days a week. We have to attend all sorts of
Collaboratives & PIs and do all the other administrative duties that go
with a formal Program. So we don't do Sundays.
