Hi Ellen,
I am not even sure if we have an "official" policy but babies are encouraged
to stay with their moms if there is a support person to assume most care of
the baby, so mother can attend to her own recovery and "just" feed the baby.
This may not be the case if the health of the baby would be compromised such
as an infectious disease setting or something of this sort. And of course we
provide breastpump and supplies for mom to express in lieu of direct
feeding.
