Help! I have to meet with two of our Peds next week who are upset that I've
told their patients to avoid pacifier use in the early weeks of breastfeeding
to avoid nipple confusion. I'm fairly sure that they will want scientific
research backing this theory. I am already prepared to say that
breastfeeding is the physiologic norm and that I would be glad to read any
research that shows pacifiers do not interfer with BF success. (Thanks Jack
for that suggestion at the BSC Conference.) It would still be nice to have a
couple good references to back me up.
