I am wondering how you clean rental pumps and cases? We rent the Medela
Lactina pump and charge a $20.00 deposit, mom signs a separate form that I
developed that states that pump and case must be wiped off by her prior to
returning it with a mild cleaning solution to remove dust, hairs, milk
etc.... and if the pump is returned with obvious dirt, we keep the 20.00 as
a cleaning fee. I am shocked at the condition that some of these pumps and
cases are returned in, (and some of these have been rented by doctors
wives!) and for those of you familiar with the Lactina, the case is a
nightmare to clean, I have spent as much as an hour cleaning one pump and
case with toothbrushes, scrub brushes, rags and q tips to get into all those
nooks and crannies and who knows what is under that white foam that wont
come out..... if anyone has an easier way to clean these, please pass it on.
I have recently taken to only selling the pump kit that comes in the bag
that the pump fits into and not even showing moms the case because the case
is so gross to clean.
TIA
Cindy
