I am a new subscriber, and my mother tongue is french (excuse my written
english!). I am a
canadian physician, specialist in Public Health (Maternal and Child
Health), with
training in pediatrics; since I believe that health promotion includes
practical help in following advice given by health professionals, I
intend to take the exams to be a
lactation consultant next July. Also mother of 3, still breastfeeding
our 17-month old boy (nickname is Mama, and very loudly too).

In my encounters with pediatricians, neonatalogists, and child
cardiologists, I am often told
that bottle is easier on babies than breast, thus better to give bottle
to preemies or babies with cardiac malformations. However, I heard
otherwise from LLL, that there is better Oxygen saturation and less
respiratory
problems in these babies when they take the breast. Does anybody have
references that will convince the great specialists ???
