Without knowing baby's birthweight so as to calculate gain since birth, I
could only say with 99.9% certainty that this baby is fine despite sleeping
all night.

How about suggesting the doctor set his alarm clock for 3 a.m. and see how
interested he is in eating a full meal when it goes off?  Sheesh.
