If you use iodine enriched salt and eat some sea food weekly your iodine levels are probably sufficient.  Hale has a good discussion on iodine and mentions normal sources.  Too much iodine can suppress thyroid function in mom or baby.  
 
The only time 130 mg is mentioned is if mom has been exposed to radioactive iodine and that is for One Dose as recommended by governmental agencies after a nuclear accident.  Repeated doses  can be fatal!  I think the person who asked you this has gotten some info out of context.  Pat in SNJ
