Hi there. I am hoping that someone can help answer a question for me. I have been approached to consult with a hospital for lactation services and one thing I would like to determine is how most hospitals bill for lactation services. Are they billed as part of the original maternity care or some kind of postpartum care? I have done research on billing through a peds office, but not able to find the standard protocol for hospitals. I don't find the AAP coding page to be incredibly useful in this area and thought maybe someone who is successfully getting their service reimbursed to the hospital can help. Please feel free to contact me off list if you can answer my question.

Thanks!
Erin Moore, IBCLC
