I suggest you go to the herbal/LC website, [log in to unmask]
and post your question there. Certified herbalists on this site could
probably suggest an herb(s) that would replace the drug and not interfere
with milk production. I've used Susun Weed's books but always check things
out first with an herbalist before offering any recommendations of resources
for moms.

Subject: heavy menstrual bleeding

Mother of 2 year old twins is complaining of heavy bleeding. Has =
suffered from this since puberty, and was on Triphasil much of her life =
to control it. However when she went back on Triphasil when the twins =
were about 14 months old, she says her milk supply was reduced. Doctor =
says (surprise!) that the twins are old enough to be weaned - so not =
much help with alternatives.
My question: is there any point in going back on the Triphasil, combined =
with a galactogogue? Any interactions likely?
The mother desperately needs help to control the bleeding, but also says =
she cannot cope without breastfeeding.
I'm surprised that breastfeeding twins hasn't helped reduced =
menstruation more.
