In reply to Valerie's quote, which follows:
http://www.annalsorg/cgi/content/full/136/5/403

"Given the rapid pace of technological developments and therapeutic
advancements in medicine and biotechnology, both students and practicing
physicians
rely on education providers and professional societies for objective,
up-to-date
health care information. Commercially sponsored information offered in such
settings can be biased in favor of manufacturers and has the potential to
unduly
affect the independent judgment of medical professionals (2-5)."

Kathy Eng wrote a short review of an appearance for Hollister where she was
impressed by the presenter's ethics. Are you implying that any presentation
by any LC who is paid by a pump company is inherently unethical? That is
certainly not what this quote says.
I consider that Nancy Mohrbacher has inherent credibility because of her
work on the Breastfeeding Answer Book, her experience as a private practice
lactation consultant and her clear, focused explanations of how she
approaches her work.

Let's close the book on personal attacks. There aren't enough breastfeeding
protectors, promoters and supporters for us to be accusing each other, and
alienating each other. We need to collaborate, not defend against attacks
(from each other, a real indignity).
