To all of you (non) physicians, the most recent edition of ABM News and
Views, the newsletter for the Academy of breastfeeding medicine (how I wish
they had picked another acronym!), mentions both NICU-NET and LACTNET in a
nice article about the pros and cons of going into cyberspace. I believe
it is called CYBERBREAST!

Anyway, for those who are voting members of the ABM, please be aware that
LACTNET has had more than 1000 subscribers since before our 1st birthday
anniversary--quite possibly one reason so many posts appear each day.

As for scrubbing the comments about health professionals (of all stripes),
please remember that flaming is discouraged on this list, but the
forthright sharing of problems (which can include having to contend with
the misinformation/misunderstanding of the lactational process by others)
certainly is appropriate grist for this particular mill.

If you do not wish to participate in such discussions, you need not do so.
If it gets your goat, well, we are sorry, but such may be reflections of
reality in some places. Or as Jan Barger's son once said, "grid your
lions!" On the other hand, LACTNET also counts many quite knowledgeable and
caring MDs among its members. We encourage all to speak up.

Def. of LC service: "We are all faced with a series of great opportunities
brilliantly disguised as impossible situations."
