OK, I have several questions.
First: I am needing information regarding the money saved to employers when
the employees breastfeed; as in less work time lost due to illnesses and
doctor visits when baby is sick. I have the medical expense saved but need
something geared toward the employer. Web site or articles online would be
great as I don't have access to a "lactation library."
Second: Does anyone have information on nursing mothers ingesting pyruvate
?--not sure if I am spelling it correctly. Nursing mom called about taking
it as a vitamin supplement or some sort of metabolic enhancer/stimulant.
Third: Just a comment on the No Free Lunch web site. I wrote them a letter
as I found it could be promising as a supporter of getting rid of the formula
gift packs in hospitals. I find this a never ending source of irritation
when I am forced to give them out. And, of course everybody wants one
because they are free and cute. I also checked out the Ralph Nader site and
was happily surprised to read the article. Mr. Nader could be a powerful
advocate.
Thanks, Suzanne Bowes RN CLE
