Dear Lactnetters,

I'm stumped. Three months ago, the mother of a then-six month old called me
about her baby biting her during nursing. The baby was teething, and
unfortunately, still is. Since then, we have tried all the usual fixes
(including everything in the Breastfeeding Answer Book), and feeding the baby
her solids before nursing, putting the baby down if she bites, but this
stubborn little girl simply will not stop biting.

Mom called in tears today, terribly upset and disappointed with herself for
'yelling' at the baby and pushing her away after being bit yesterday. She
doesn't want to wean, but she's had about as much as she can take.

Your thoughts would be most welcome.
