The Mom that I worked with and posted about who had the " hamburger" nipples
is now completely healed. She had battled raw nipples for 6 weeks and after 3
weeks of the treatment that I recommended, she is totally healed. Thanks to
all who responded with ideas to me. She discontinued using the tea bags which
the hospital had recommended ( that is standard orders for sore nipples at our
hospital), used the Purelan or Lansinoh  all the time, along with breast
shields ( the large ones to protect from clothing), and nursed only in the
football hold or lying down. She is thrilled. The baby also is more then
double her birthweight at 9 weeks of age, is exclusively BF and Mom is working
halftime.
