It is my understanding from what I have read on the various websites
avialable on the subject -

Nestle was originally boycotted for its blatant WHO code violations in third
world countries specifically. The boycott continues today because it is said
(I have no factual research) that they continue to do things even the other
formula companies do not do in terms of marketing innapproriately. I do know
that they are the only formula company who advertises on TV in the US. I
cannot speak for the rest of the world, but you might try reading the
information available at www.ibfan.org.

As for American Home Products - (Which I believe is no longer AHP. but part
of Wyeth pharmaceuticals) they made SMA is the US some years ago. From what
I understand there were some serious problems with SMA and so the formula
was boycotted as well as other AHP products. SMA is no longer sold in the
US, but it is still sold in other countries. I do now know if the problem
with SMA still exists or not

Hope that clears up the mud a bit.

Regards,
Michelle
