Hi everyone. I am a sociologist and teach in a Women's Studies
and Gender Studies Program. I am the mother of two young sons.
My own experiences breastfeeding have gotten me very interested
in breastfeeding as a feminist concern and as a women's health
issue. I am beginning a research project on how women experience
and manage breastfeeding.

As part of my research, I would like to learn more about the words
that older children use to indicate they want to breastfeed. I
noticed that someone posted about this recently.

I would be grateful to anyone who would share their responses to
the following questions: What words does/did your toddler or
child use to indicate he or she wants to breastfeed? Did you
actively teach the child to use the word(s) or did it come about
spontaneously? I welcome your thoughts and stories, or the
stories of your clients, friends and family.

Please respond PRIVATELY ([log in to unmask]). I appreciate
the lactnet opportunity (lactunity?) to ask for your help,
and when I write something about the responses I will share it
with you.
