Hi Sarah,

I think I'm getting that the baby already has a diagnosis of
tracheomalacia, and in addition to that, you saw what might be retractions
on the baby's chest?

You can certainly search the internet to see if you can find videos of
infant assessment, specifically sternal retractions, intercostal
retractions, etc. That might clarify what you were seeing.

Any adverse sign should be reported to the primary hcp. You would want to
also add whether the baby had any adverse signs while feeding, crying, or
at rest, noisy feeding, wet sounds after feeding, etc. Also if the weight
gain is good and general tone and activity.

Remember, heart problems often show up after hospital discharge, as well as
other problems.
