Hi, everyone. A pediatrician-new mom ran this one past me today.
She was told by her colleagues that she should wash her nipples
with water *after* every feeding since the baby's "salivary
amylase" would make her nipples sore. Could anyone give me a
quick and definitive answer on this? Always willing to learn, but
this was a bit strange-sounding to me.
TIA, Judy Knopf in Beer Sheva, Israel
