For the non-colour-deficient of us...I was noticing something in the
baby isle the other day at the local pharmacy. The brand "SMA" (now
owned by Nestlé here in Canada) had an extraordinary number of different
colours for their cans. I was wondering how this was, whether they had
a lot of different kinds of formulae. I decided to look more closely
and realized that the ready-to-use formulae (3 different kinds of them:
with iron, without iron, and soy...) were differently coloured (3
different colours depending on the kind) than the concentrated liquid
cans (another 3 different colours). The powdered cans had the same
colour I think as the concentrated liquid, but then anyone who claims
they didn't realize the powder had to be mixed up with water is beyond
brainless.

I think this is a good idea, in that at the very least, if a mom is used
to using the ready-to-use iron fortified cans (which are, say, green),
and her mom or Mother-in-Law (MIL) or husband comes home with a yellow
can, or a pink can, she ought to be more likely to notice the difference
than if it is the same colour on the can, but is just written in small
print that it is "concentrated liquid".
